Limiting the harm using proportionate reasons

Once again Barbara Kralis makes clear gross misinterpretations. This time it's the statements of Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, prefect of the Congregation for the doctrine of the Faith, and Archbishop Raymond L. Burke of St. Louis when they stated that Catholics may vote for pro-abortion politicians for ‘proportionate reasons.’

Not only are secular media outlets distorting their statements, but some Catholics are doing it as well. Why? Not sure, perhaps they want to influence a pro-abortion victory in November, perhaps they don't understand the meaning of ‘proportionate reasons.’ I have to believe for the majority of Catholics, it's the latter.

If you're like me and are awaiting Archbishop Raymond L. Burke's clarifying statement on October 1, but would like to understand this issue, read this article. It's well written, well researched as always and abundantly clear. Catholic Online - Featured
