As a blogger, it pleases me to see the notoriety some of my fellow bloggers are receiving these days. Thanks to Talk Radio and blogs such as Power Line Blog and Little Green Footballs, the left leaning mainstream media no longer has a monopoly on the "Truth." While disregarded proper journalistic standards, and in their haste to publicize now-discredited documents purporting to question President Bush's Texas Air National Guard service, CBS and Dan Rather have exposed themselves for the "liberal, leftist media organization that they are when they actually got caught dishing out the misinformation.
And, to top it all off, Dan Rather and CBS were outclassed by the very Internet bloggers that during an O'Reilly Factor interview, a CBS executive described as "guys in pajamas" motivated by a "partisan political and ideological agenda."
Perhaps America will wake up to the clearly, liberal "media bias" perpetrated by the mainstream media. For a history of Dan Rather's rather-biased reporting, go here. Dan Rather's Liberal Bias - Media Research Center

Life Matters!
As a Pro-Life Floridian it pains me to contemplate that I live in a state where there are people (Michael Schiavo) that would be so adamant to end a life, and lawyers so eager to help him. Even if the ruling is the proper ruling according to Florida law, it still begs the question why? Why go through all the trouble to end one woman’s life? Especially when she had loving parents that would care for her.
With all the Pro-Life groups against Michael Schiavo, and all the groups fighting for life, the life of Terri, not to mention the Governor coming to Terri's aid as he did, wouldn't you think Mr. Schiavo would get the hint that he's doing something wrong here? This is a moral tragedy, and this State will be worse off for it. This nation is worse off for it as well.
You have to be Pro-Life to understand how tragic this ruling is. Simply being a secularist, examining the law, and coming to the conclusion this was the right decision is cold and heartless. It's all about faith and hope...that's what matters, not language and law.
As for the lawyers who fought to end Terri's life, I feel sorry for them, and all I can do is pray that God shows mercy and the Holy Spirit comes into their lives and changes their hearts. As for the Lawyers who defended Terri's life, I pray that God continues to bless you with the Grace, wisdom and courage to continue the good fight. As for Gov. Jeb Bush, I salute you and your courage to fight for Terri and for Life. It takes immense courage for a Governor to take a stand for Life, especially in this polarized political climate. I continue to pray for Terri and her family as does many around this State and nation like Life Matters!.

Bishop says voting for pro-abortion candidate wrong
In a followup to a story I bloged here back in August, Atlanta Roman Catholic Archbishop John Donoghue issued a letter on "matters of faith and morals" in the voting booth for Catholics. In what has to be commended for clear and concise leading, the Archbishop confirms his unwavering stand on faithful responsibility, and the safe guarding of the Blessed Sacrament. Story and pastorial letter here
Also, as reported by LifeSiteNews.com, Bishop Gerald Gettelfinger of Evansville Indiana stated that he would refuse communion to politicians who publicly deny their faith on abortion or homosexuality.
Fidele Ecclesia plans to publish a list of bishops who state they would refuse communion to politicians who publicly deny their faith on abortion.
Developing.

Limiting the harm using proportionate reasons
Once again Barbara Kralis makes clear gross misinterpretations. This time it's the statements of Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, prefect of the Congregation for the doctrine of the Faith, and Archbishop Raymond L. Burke of St. Louis when they stated that Catholics may vote for pro-abortion politicians for ‘proportionate reasons.’
Not only are secular media outlets distorting their statements, but some Catholics are doing it as well. Why? Not sure, perhaps they want to influence a pro-abortion victory in November, perhaps they don't understand the meaning of ‘proportionate reasons.’ I have to believe for the majority of Catholics, it's the latter.
If you're like me and are awaiting Archbishop Raymond L. Burke's clarifying statement on October 1, but would like to understand this issue, read this article. It's well written, well researched as always and abundantly clear. Catholic Online - Featured

NPR : Sen. Rick Santorum on Abortion
NPR : Sen. Rick Santorum on Abortion: "The Republican platform committee has approved a draft reaffirming the party's endorsement of a constitutional ban on abortion. Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA), one of the Senate's staunchest abortion opponents spoke to NPR, listen to this interview as Sen. Rick Santorum speaks to this issue. Very well done Senator...check it out.
Catholic University to Give Award to Abortion Proponent
On July 7, 2004 the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) made the following statement clear as part of their interim report, Catholics in Political Life "The Catholic community and Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions." So why then did Loyola University invite former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, an avowed pro-abort and homosexual "marriage" proponent to speak on Sept 1. Their answer here
Catholic Republicans Rally for Bush in New York
NewsMax.com: Inside Cover Story: "Chairman Gillespie pointed out that 'one out of three Catholics eligible to vote is not registered.' He stressed the need to register Catholics because 'President Bush is the candidate who shares the values that Catholics hold dear.'"
